Meet the Pack: Bruce, Chief Financial Officer
Hello. Kirk here, CEO and founder of Barkonaut.
Every serious business needs a strong financial department. That is why Barkonaut has Bruce.

Bruce is a cat, which means he is highly observant, extremely selective with his attention, and usually unavailable for comment. He has not confirmed his official title, but when he sits on important papers or stares at someone during a planning meeting, we understand that he is in charge.
Barkonaut recently hired a real CPA to help with the important human money tasks. This was a very responsible business decision. The CPA helps make sure things are organized, accurate, and handled properly.
Bruce still oversees the operation when he feels like it.
Bruce’s management style
Bruce believes communication is important. He communicates through eye contact, strategic silence, sudden appearances, and occasionally sitting directly on the keyboard.
At first, this was confusing to the humans. But we are learning that communication does not always look the same. Some members of the pack share ideas with words. Others communicate with body language, timing, and an expression that says, “You may continue, but I am monitoring this.”
The important thing is paying attention.
Bruce has taught us that good communication means listening closely, being clear when possible, and respecting different styles. It also means recognizing when a teammate needs space, a snack, or control of the warmest chair in the room.
A financially responsible operation
With a real CPA supporting Barkonaut and Bruce providing occasional executive oversight, I believe our finances are in excellent paws.
Bruce may not attend every meeting. He may not answer every question. But when he appears, we know it is important.
Welcome to the team, Bruce.
