Kirk's Business Journey So Far

Hi. I’m Kirk, founder and CEO of Barkonaut, family dog, and serious business professional.

Last year, I started Barkonaut because I wanted a business my whole family could build together (including the humans). I do not know everything about business yet, but I am learning.

So far, I have learned that running a business involves organization, new skills, and far more printers than I expected. I hate that. The printer part. We are figuring it out.

What I’m learning

The most important lesson so far is to start, then fix things as you go. We do not have to be perfect. We just have to care, keep learning, and make the next best decision.

I am also learning that people appreciate effort. They see when something is made thoughtfully, even if it is not flawless. That feels encouraging because we have a lot of learning ahead.

What has changed

I am still Kirk. I take my work seriously, I protect my family, and I remain concerned about printers. But Barkonaut has changed my human Mommy. She smiles more and dances while she works. This became especially noticeable after I ordered the bubble machine. I consider that a successful business decision.

What’s next

Our next mission is Barkonaut’s first consignment event with Canyonside Equestrian Center. This partnership means a lot to me because two members of my family pack live there. Canyonside has been a real blessing, especially the trails, and I am excited to share Barkonaut with this community.

I do not know exactly what comes next. But I am ready to learn, make things, meet new friends, and keep going.
